Hi. I'm Annette, though I sometimes go by Weeble. I like puzzles, board games, video games, drawing and roller skating. I work as a software engineer at Skyscanner. I'm a gay trans woman. 😊

My online presence has mostly been on Twitter, but as that looks ropier by the day I'm spending some time on Cohost and I have a limited presence on Mastodon. I have a long-fallow techie blog, with some things I'm proud of, such as a rambling series on trying to draw pretty Minecraft maps, or a dissection of an adventure gamebook. I also have a (similarly neglected) more general audience blog though it's a bit sparse. I have written one or two interesting things at work for Skyscanner's Engineering blog, such as mob programming, diagnosing a weird bug and working with DynamoDB.

I sometimes make games, generally unreasonably hard puzzle games:
  • Linton is a PICO-8 remake of Repton 3. It's a hard action puzzle game. Plunder the underworld vaults for gems before time runs out.
  • Robot Repairs is a hard Puzzlescript pushing-blocks puzzle. It was inspired by Ricochet Robots. Try to get the coloured spheres into the matching sockets.
  • Tiny Treasure Hunt is a hard Puzzlescript multi-level Sokoban-style game. Try to collect the coins by building bridges from crates and ice-cubes.
I used to draw a lot, largely illustrations and covers for TBD magazine, a student sci-fi and fantasy magazine I was involved in at Glasgow University. Some day I'd like find the time to get back into drawing. It's much harder to get anything drawn without deadlines!

I made a scribbly font called Weeblescript for illustrating programming diagrams.

I also take far too many selfies.
